Thomas C. Lönn, Attorney

Tom, or "Tommy," as his friends referred to him growing up, was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. In public schools through high school, he attended Fordham University in New York City, graduating in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He attended New York Law School and Capital University Law School, graduating in 1992.

Growing up in the Bronx gave Tom a simple, straightforward, matter-of-fact style of conducting business. He will always give it to you straight. A childhood in the Bronx gives one a perspective on how hard life can be and how a better life can be achieved through hard work and persistence.

Active in sports from a young age, he also found he has a competitive side. This comes in very useful in courtroom settings. In high school, Tom played baseball, basketball, and football. However, while in college, he switched to rugby. He has traveled Internationally, including Europe, playing rugby. After his playing days were done, he refereed rugby for many years. Now he enjoys family activities such as hiking, golf, softball, and travel.

Tom is in his 20th year of the practice of law. Most of his practice areas (predominantly Bankruptcy and Criminal Defense) take him to courthouses around the state. He is a member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a Fellow and Member of the Columbus Bar Association. He has lectured on various topics to university students and practicing lawyers on bankruptcy and criminal law issues. He is admitted to practice law by The State of Ohio, Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the Northern District of Ohio, and the Federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a past member of the Franklin County Trial Lawyers Association.
